Call for Proposals - Speaking at Vercel Ship (May 2024)
Vercel Ship brings together our Community, Partners and more to hear the latest Vercel updates and customer stories.
We want to hear how you're helping build a faster web with Vercel with a 25 minute talk, in-person in New York City.
Submission
Write 1-2 paragraphs summarizing your talk, ideally telling a story about a problem that you or your team solved:
- Scaling your app on Vercel
- Migrating to Vercel and how it pushed your business forward
- How you’re using the latest features from Next.js on Vercel
- Optimizing the performance of your application
- …or anything else your find interesting
CFPs do not need to be polished or scripted. We just want to hear what you plan to talk about. Deadline:
Approval Process
We'll approve or decline every submission by April 29th. Approval will be based on the following criteria:
- Is your story focused on how Vercel changed how your team works, or how it helped improve your site's performance and delight your users?
- Is your talk something novel and something that will educate other developers watching the conference?
Goals for Community Speakers
- High Quality Vercel Ship is for creating content that the Vercel community will enjoy and learn from for years to come.
- DX & UX Focused The Vercel community loves great developer experience (DX), but also ensuring it's in service of the user experience (UX).
- Community Oriented This is our moment to share and celebrate the best and brightest ideas from the Vercel community.
Timeline
April 24 → Submission Deadline
- Make sure to fill out the CFP form by
April 29 → Notification of Approval
- For approved submissions, we'll inform folks whether their talk was selected
- Approved submissions will be given two action items: to confirm their participation and schedule an orientation check
May 3 - May 6 → Orientation Checks
- You will be able to schedule a 15 minute slot that fits your schedule.
May 15 → Final Presentation Due
- Presentations are due by .
May 23 → Vercel Ship
- You will present your talk like to the in-person attendees.
FAQ
- Talks are a maximum of 25 minutes each.
- If you're selected to present your talk in-person, you will present it live in New York City.
- We can help with transportation and accommodation near the Ship Venue.
- Community talks are not paid, but you can expect some free swag.
